Okay, here it is, the thread to post characters related to the Ravenloft/Manifest campaign. Those who will be part of the Manifest campaign should put there characters up first. I am hoping to get all the details worked and begin the adventure needed in about two weeks (depending on Irene). If I think changes are needed for characters, backgrounds and character work, I will let you know on the discussion thread and then you make the changes here.

A note about character creation:
--All rolls should be done on the dice roller for hit points, stat creation and such.
--For stats you roll 4d6 and ignore the lowest die for each stat. You should have a net bonus of +3 to have a workable character. This is before stat adjustments based on race. The lowest ability score can be rerolled if you do not have a net +3 bonus.
--Rangers still have a d10 for hit points.
--All characters start at 1st Level with maximum hit points, and characters will have at least minimum average hit points (I'll check for this after hit points are rolled and placed on the character sheet)
--All characters are beginning at 8th Level. This gives a character 27,000gp in starting gold. You are allowed to purchase:
1 item no more than 6750gp
3 items no more than 2700gp
Any items equal to or less than 1350gp

Appearance:
Heian has an intense, cold stare as if he is always seeing battle, or, at least, reliving it. His face is angled like a woodland predator. Old scars are visible on his face.

Personality:
Heian is battle hardened and exhausted by the conflict in his homeland. He fears the loss of his connection to the jungle he loves, especially if the yuan-ti abomination continue to “rape” the land. He is also frustrated with the “civilized” world’s apparent disregard for the elven plight.

Background:
Spent several years defending Sura-Khira from Yuan-ti incursions. The constant warfare exhausted Heian to the point of a possible mental disorder. Heian came to Manifest, or more accurately the Spirit Wood, to commune with dead ancestors and to find solace. Heian is a recent addition to the Red Seven to uncover the mysterious foes who are kidnapping ghosts from the city.

Motivation/Goals:
Heian wants to eliminate the yuan-ti threat from Sura-Khira. He feels even more loss because he believes the elves may need outside help to succeed in the conflict. For the moment, Heian has been searching for answers amongst his ancestors within the Spirit Wood.

Appearance
Just another dwarf - well-armed & battle scarred.  His armor looks pretty mundane compared to his fancy weapons, though.  Some kind of dwarven barbarian, maybe?  He also seems paranoid about the moon for some reason.

Personality
Like many dwarves, Rogan loves good company, a good drink, & a good bar brawl!  He became a mercenary to see the world, fight a lot, & get the gold.  Opportunities to kill off vile beings preying on others are just perks of the job!

Rogan's behavior tends to show he's perfectly happy as an army grunt.  He's at his most fired up fighting alongside others or even leading the charge into battle.  In spite of the talents he has developed, however, Rogan has no desire to be the one in command - much to the irritation of several clients over the years.

Rogan's recent affliction with lycanthropy has been quite traumatic.  Each injury in battle & the waning moon put him in ever-increasing fear for his self control & sanity.  Knowing he will soon lose control of his own body again; he longs for control or removal of this nightmare!

Background
A story heard many times before:  Rogan showed above average abilities training in the city's army, but the surrounding lands were basically under control.  With a home boring to a brash, battle-eager, young dwarf, he left to try his blade elsewhere.

After several years & various adventures, Rogan was finally sailing back to his home country after a mission longer & more distant than it was worth.  The ship sailed into port on a very foggy day.  Rogan entered town & received quite the shock later that day when he discovered neither the port, nor the seas he had just crossed were there anymore!

Rogan’s surprising day happened to have a bright side!  He came across Bear - a friend & ally from assorted past missions & taverns.  Bear was in town with allies resupplying before hunting down a wretched enemy.  Under the circumstances, the opportunity for something to do & a direction to go could not be passed up!

Motivation/Goals
See the world, destroy great evils, get stronger, & get rich!

Appearance:
TAR is of average height, but he has the bulk of large tree trunk. His skin is weathered from a life as a nomad and a short stint as a sailor. He looks a bit older than he is. TAR has a fearsome appearance, although he may not mean it. He is the quiet guy in the back of the room who looks perpetually angry. However, this is not his anger. When he is enraged, he’s angry.

Personality:
TAR is a barbarian. Because of this he lacks certain civilized social graces. But he loves a good drink, song, and stories (especially if they are about his deeds). He also loves bar wenches, and they probably love him too. TAR enjoys a good bar fight now and again.

Background:
Tar and Veit are cousins and spent their early career hunting monster in the Varlin Mountains and the jungle together. Tar looks toward Veit as a religious compass.

Motivation/Goals:
He wants to explore the world and bring knowledge of the world to his plains people and vice versa. Of course, making a great name for himself is every barbarian’s dream: To have his tales told to generations of children.

Appearance:
Veit wears a victorious, confident half-smile almost consistently. His facial features, lacking facial hair, are angular almost wolf-like. His eyes stare intently at whatever object they focus upon. His breastplate is an emerald green, with deep orange shoulder boards, gauntlets, and greaves.

Personality:
Veit has a boisterous persona and is not above making suggestion about the best of course of action to tackle a challenge. Veit is also not one to typically back down from a challenge as each event is a chance to overcome his own weaknesses and improve his strengths. Challenges and foes are met with a gleam in his eye. He may even give a heartfelt salute to honorable opponents.

Background:
Veit hails from an extended family based in Shetourin, a trading community in Thurkasia. Family devotion to Taphaneron led Veit down the religious path. It was also a way to control his love for a fight. Veit spent his early career with various hunting parties/adventuring groups tracking monsters in the Varlin Mountains and the Chenurall Jungle.


Motivation/Goals:
He sees weakness in impoverished/downtrodden people. Slavery is an especially sickening weakness. Rather than avoid such weaknesses, Veit wishes to alleviate those who suffer so they may find their own strengths. Veit arrived in Manifest with a heart ready for new challenges that only the City of the Dead could provide.
